“Reddit Alien Process” - by Sam Spratt

This is the process for creating my version of Reddit’s alien logo which I view much more as a robot aesthetically. For the full piece of them on an assembly line to their downvoted doom, check it out HERE

The process is pretty straight forward. I started out with super basic vector shapes, added in harsh shadows, started painting in some base texture and color variation, laid down sub-surface reflective color, put surface level reflective color, surface level texture, then final details.

Where Reddit Robots go to die. Amused by the hive mind that is “reddit” and their powerful decision-making over what is good and bad on the internet—I thought I would illustrate the moment before an image, link, or idea gets down voted into the fiery depths of the web. (I firmly believe it is a robot despite these claims of it being an alien)

“Troll Face, Evolved” - By Sam Spratt

I was hesitant to do Troll Face simply because unlike the other two I did, it has been translated to a variety of levels of “realism” to death.  Like the others, this was a quick 1-1.5 hours of work.

Disclaimer: I’m not making these to replace the beloved and hideous MS paint classics. The charm comes from the simplicity and these demented versions are for my own shits and giggles and your viewing pleasure/nightmares. If you use them in any “rage comics” I would LOVE to see them and you are absolutely welcome to get rid of the watermarks if you are willing to take the 2 seconds to Photoshop them out. Credit is always appreciated—but for these it is not at all necessary. Enjoy!
